Financial Reporting and Workflow Engineer

Candidates for this position will demonstrate experience with reporting architectures, including data management, report and analysis development, web server interfaces, and information delivery methods. Candidates must be proactive and resourceful business technology professionals who have experience in the Financial Services sector.
You will be working predominantly with Institutional Investors and experience in this area is desirable. As a member of our professional services team, you will leverage your business knowledge and your reporting and data management skills to help us deliver new software functionality to our clients. In this role, you will work with teams comprised from both QED business units and client organizations. Therefore, your ability to listen, communicate, and articulate is as essential as your understanding of technologies relating to the investment industry.
As a Financial Reporting and Workflow Engineer, you will:
- Design and implement reporting solutions for our new and existing client base.
- Use QED’s proprietary report writing language and third party software tools to build custom reports.
- Work with clients to develop report requirement definitions and develop supporting data structures for new reports.
- Facilitate delivery of customized reports per client requests through the creation of technical and functional specifications, which involves:
- analyzing the client's reporting needs
- working with the client to gather requirements and state the specifications
- working with QED team members to develop the solution and present the statement of work
- designing, coding, and testing the reports
- delivering and implementing the reporting product for the client
- Interact with functional analysts, DBAs, and other developers to define and implement the best technical design to support business requirements.
- Present layout, formatting, and design recommendations, including various delivery methods.
- Prepare technical design documentation to support code development.
- Execute code development and unit test.
Requirements
To be considered for a Financial Reporting and Workflow Engineer position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Experience in the investment management industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing financial analysis and investment accounting reports is strongly preferred.
- A desire to learn a proprietary reporting language is required.
- Minimum three years of progressive experience with report development, preferably in Java applications.
- Minimum three years experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and at least one database programming language is required.
- Strong technical skills and experience with programming languages such as Visual BASIC or C is preferred.
- Previous experience with Crystal Reports, BRIO, Cognos, JasperSoft, or Microsoft Reporting Services is desired.
- Knowledge of web technologies including Java, JSP, HTML, CSS and XML is preferred.
- Functional and technical understanding of UNIX required. (Microsoft Windows acceptable).
- Ability to function in both individual and team-oriented environments is required.
- Ability to assess, state, and respond to a client’s reporting needs is required.
- Ability to self-prioritize workload and identify when assistance is required.
- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals is required.
- Ability to understand and derive relationships of information systems to business functions preferred.
- Strong communication and organization skills required.
- Previous experience at SunGard Financial, Advent, Princeton Financial, or Eagle Investment Systems is a plus.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

Client Support Representatives

- Provide customer support to various clients on QED Financial Systems software, via phone and e-mail.

Senior Implementation Project Manager

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:
- Oversee implementation, conversion, and custom development projects for QED clients.
- Determine project scope and requirements.
- Define project-related deliverables, schedules, resources, budgets, and tasks.
- Communicate with all levels of QED and client staffs to keep interested parties abreast of project statuses, issues, and modifications.
- Conduct project kickoff meetings and regularly scheduled project team meetings.

Requirements
To be considered for the Senior Project Manager position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Degree in related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in portfolio management, investment accounting, securities operations, or a related field. Must have a thorough understanding of investment management and securities operations concepts.
- At least 4 years of experience in managing small, medium, and large software implementation projects, preferably within the securities industry.
- Experience using portfolio management and/or investment accounting software.
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving, process improvement, and business re-engineering.
- Strong verbal communication, written communication, and presentation skills.

Quantitative Financial Analyst

As a Quantitative Financial Analyst, you will:
- Manage a staff of four to six developers.
- Lead efforts to establish formalized platform and product development.
- Integrate third party analytics and mathematical models.
- Create system framework and develop code for new instruments including derivatives and hybrid derivatives.
- Work with senior management, to analyze and assess current development initiatives and recommend platform enhancements.
- Learn all operational aspects of QED software and stay abreast of all technology and market analytics.
- Evaluate third party analytics software for possible integration to QED applications.
- Assist with development of training programs and related courseware, including guides, manuals, presentations, etc.

To be considered for the position of Quantitative Financial Analyst, you must meet the following requirements:
- Advanced degree in Financial Engineering, Engineering/Physics, or Applied Mathematics.
- Knowledge of Credit Models & Methods such as, Copula models, deterministic models, grid conversion, multiperiod simulation models, asymptotic saddlepoint methods, twisted Monte Carlo simulations, and Dourier/Laplace transformation.
- Knowledge of Foreign Exchange and Equity Models, including ensemble model, BS basket model, discrete dividends, stochastic volatility, lattice/trinomial trees/simulation.
- Knowledge of Fixed Income Models including, generic tree n-factor models, dimensionality reduction, single and multi factor Hull-White, Brace-Catarek-Musiela and shifted BGM, Composit FX 3-factor model.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in middle-office, front or risk management function in the investment and asset management arenas.
- Strong knowledge of derivatives: Fixed Income, Equity, Interest Rate Derivatives, FX and CC Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Risk/Sensitivity Analysis.
- Strong knowledge of financial engineering: Models in the BS framework, Monte Carlo techniques, Numerical methods, Stochastic processes.

Accountant / Senior Accountant
We are seeking motivated Senior Accountants to join our team responsible for delivering excellent client service in the area of investment portfolio accounting for our clients. You will also be performing month-end accounting and reporting for our clients in accordance with specified reporting timetables/deadlines. The Portfolio Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation of client investment portfolios, utilizing the automated reconciliation process for most of the accounts. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of client investment portfolio records in the Company's proprietary accounting system. The Portfolio Accountant will also provide financial information to management by compiling, researching, and analyzing data. The qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate the necessary leadership skills required to supervise a staff of 3 – 4.

Responsibilities include:
- Preparing schedules or reports as requested by clients, tax agencies and external auditors
- Reconciliation of investment portfolio accounts through validation of accounting records and review of client statements
- Participating in the income and expense reconciliation process to ensure transactions and account positions are complete and accurate
- Reviewing and resolving investment portfolio share and position differences
- Leading or participating in system enhancement, process improvement, and other department projects
- Identifying, assessing and proposing changes in accounting procedures arising from regulatory change
- Assist in the design, development and execution of internal reporting controls and new reporting requirements
- Complete daily cash reconciliations
- Perform periodic transaction and holdings reconciliation (Daily, Weekly, Monthly).
- Research and resolve exceptions utilizing various sources including Bloomberg
- Communicate with custodial banks for timely resolution of discrepancies
- Research and resolve discrepancies including corporate action entitlements
- Monitor pay-downs, coupon rates and payments
- Monitor flows and average monthly STIF rates
- Complete month-end closing reviews and activities
- Prepare special reports as required
- Perform comparison analysis for specific accounts
Requirements
- Must have Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting
- CPA preferred
- 5-7 years experience in period end reporting and accounting in a financial services environment
- Extensive knowledge of general ledger preferred
- Project and project management experience
- Extensive knowledge of portfolio performance standards and composites and indices
- Knowledge of treasury and financial instruments
- Knowledge and experience in derivative instruments across equity, fixed interest, treasury and capital markets is desirable
- Knowledge and expertise with Microsoft Office
- Detailed knowledge and experience in domestic and international Fixed Income and Equity trading workflows
- Firm understanding of Fixed Income securities, especially Asset Backed securities
- Strong understanding of domestic and international derivative strategies and analytics preferred
- Experience with US and non-US securities and market structures
- Working knowledge of risk management and compliance standards preferred
- Strong financial analytical skills
