QED Executive Team
    Joseph Potesta, President and Chief Executive Officer

As President and Chief Executive Officer, Joseph Potesta founded QED Financial Systems in 1986. Mr. Potesta served as a Senior Systems Consultant for Towers, Perrin, Foster, & Crosby, where he was project leader in the development of the TPF&C International ValCalc System, an actuarial defined benefits & pension evaluation model for Fortune-500 companies.

Formerly, Mr. Potesta was chief investment operations manager for the New Jersey Treasury Investment Division and served as director of the MIS Department and manager of automated securities movement and control operations.

Mr. Potesta holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with a minor in Applied Mathematics, from Rutgers University. He also attended the Wharton School of Business, where he specialized in Multinational Finance and Management. Mr. Potesta is a Member of the Association for Investment Management and Research (formerly the Securities Analyst Association of New York).

   
   

Anthony W. Castile, Senior Vice President - Research and Development

Anthony Castile is a seasoned financial services executive with more than 20 years of experience in sales, customer service, and technology infrastructure. Mr. Castile has a unique combination of sales and sales management experience, along with extensive investment operations management expertise, and he has worked at industry-recognized financial services firms, including Thomson Financial, The Asset Backed Securities Group, and Interactive Data.

Mr. Castile, who served in the United States military as a Commissioned Officer and helicopter pilot, began his civilian career at Citibank’s Private Banking Group. Mr. Castile is one of the original employees of QED, returning to the company after having departed to serve as the Chief Information Officer at Freedom Mortgage Corporation and as a principal of the Xenith Corporation.

Mr. Castile attended The United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army and received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Weapons Systems. Mr. Castile has participated in many executive-level sales methodology forums and is a former member of the Ellie Mae National Advisory and the National Association of State Treasurers Corporate Affiliate Advisory Boards.

   
    Michael B. Dowd, Senior Vice President - Operations

Michael Dowd has been working in investment accounting and financial services since 1991 and serves as senior vice president of operations at QED. He is well-versed in Schedule D preparation, accounting reconciliation, financial reporting, and most investment instruments. He also has executive management and supervisory experience in fast-paced financial software, financial services, accounting, and insurance organizations. Before starting at QED in 2004, Mr. Dowd worked at Mellon Financial Corp. as assistant vice president, at Princeton Financial Systems as a senior accountant, and at CNA Insurance Company as a financial analyst. At QED, Mr. Dowd was instrumental in establishing the Accounting Services unit, a division that provides investment accounting and reporting outsourcing using the Q2 Investment Workflow System. He also works directly with clients to develop ways of increasing middle- and back-office efficiency through the use of QED software and services.

Mr. Dowd earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance from the College of New Jersey. He is a member of the North American Securities Valuation Association and the National Association of State Treasurers.

   
    Mark McKeever, Senior Vice President - Project Management and System Implementations

Mark McKeever is an experienced financial professional with over 15 years of senior management responsibilities in both the public and private sectors of Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax Reporting, and Investor Servicing. Mr. McKeever first worked for five years as a financial analyst and auditor at CIGNA. He has applied his skill for implementing best practices and maintaining an optimum internal control environment to his subsequent jobs at JP Morgan, PFPC Inc., the US Securities and Exchange Commission, and now at QED.

Mr. McKeever holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Taxation with a concentration in Finance. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
   
    Steven M. Kendus, Vice President - Marketing and Communications

Steven Kendus is a corporate communications expert with more than 15 years of marketing and technical writing experience and more than seven years of executive management experience in software- and Web-oriented environments. Mr. Kendus founded The Writer’s Block - GoodResume.com in 1993 and MyHouseSpecs.com in 2000, and has assisted organizations in enhancing their productivity and identity through marketing, corporate communications, and employee education. Prior to joining QED, Mr. Kendus served as manager of technical education and corporate communications for Integrated Software Solutions, Inc.; director of product communications for eCal Corporation; senior technical writer for EXE Technologies; and training program designer for The Bank of New York (Delaware).

Mr. Kendus has a Bachelor of Arts in English – Business and Technical Writing from the University of Delaware and a certificate in Web design from the Delaware College of Art and Design. He is a senior member of the Society for Technical Communication and is the author of Hunting The First State: A Guide to Delaware Hunting.
